- Own Steampath bucket/blade component design in execution of New Product Introduction (NPI), Order-to-Remit, and activities for new units and aftermarket services.
- Drive technology advancements from a Shaftline System, subsystem, component and material / life vantage points.
- Collaborate with global & cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Drafting/Global Supply Chain) enabling & fostering mutual technical growth and delivering for our customers.
- Lead and review appropriate engineering analysis to ensure robust designs that meet all customer requirements.
- Follow rigorous NPI Tollgate Process from Conceptual Design thru field validation for all bucket/blade component designs across the full spectrum of Gas Power turbine configurations.
- Design for EHS/Safety and demonstrate safety skillsets in support of manufacturing and field activities, i.e. lifting and transportation.
- Demonstrated excellence applying fundamentals of Mechanical Design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, lifing methods related to fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep.
- Finite Element Analysis and / or Computational Fluid Dynamics capability.
- This role requires basic experience in Engineering/Technology & Mechanical Components. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Prioritize everyday standard work within framework of SQDCC: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, & Culture.
- Excellent communication skills and intercultural awareness.
- Demonstrated passion for Quality, LEAN, and Six Sigma implementing continuous improvement to deliver for our customers and reducing variation though adoption of standard work.
- Advanced Engineering Degree.
- Experience in Steam Turbine rotating component design, including ST rotating and stationary bucket/blade designs, design process & procedures.
- Demonstrated clear thinker, with ability to manage conflict and derive solutions to complicated problems.
- Demonstrated Project leadership skills with the mindset to handle several competing tasks.
- Familiarity with the full manufacturing process including: forgings, machining, and factory assembly/ testing practices, specifically as applied to power generation equipment.
