Senior Veterinarian (for OPD only but surgeon also accepted) (full-time 6-day week Salary - INR 60K - 1L / month depending on experience) Youth Organisation in Defence of Animals (YODA) runs a 5000 sq.foot shelter in the heart of Bandra, Mumbai housing about 50-80 domestic animals (mostly dogs and cats, sometimes other species) at any given point of time having a clinic facility and 10 staff members. An exciting opportunity to work as a veterinarian with a large number of cases to add to your surgery or medical treatment experience and creating a positive impact into the animal community. Responsibilities: Maintains animal health by diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries. Determines the nature of disease or injury by examining pets and/or large animals. Restores animal health by treating animals surgically or medically. Prevents rabies, brucellosis, and other disorders by testing animals and providing inoculations. Promotes health of animals by advising animal owners about sanitation measures, feeding, and general care. Documents actions by completing and updating forms, reports, and animal records and reporting diseases to public health officials. Enhances NGO reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Timings : Full- time. (10am -5pm 6 days a week) Education Requirements & Qualifications: Education: B.V.Sc (mandatory), M.Sc/M.V.Sc/PhD (preferable) License to practice Surgery Experience: Experience working with animals (particularly in a shelter environment) is a big plus. 2+ years experience in surgeries To be a successful applicant: Must be enthusiastic to work in a charitable organization Must have commitment to help injured animals and save critically ill ones with best of effort Must work collaboratively with shelter staff and assistants to deliver best-in-class medical care for the animals Must be willing to uphold values of the NGO and build the reputation of NGO before one's self in the field Applicants perks and opportunity: Competitive Salary depending on experience Extensive experience building and career progression opportunities Opportunity to work with large number of animals across different species of small, domestic and wildlife animals Part of an organisation which will grow rapidly and be part of larger vision and purpose In the hub of a tier one city like Mumbai
