Location: Pune-Hybrid working
Status: Contract(3-6 months)

We're on the hunt for a Enterprise Architect as part of our company's growth.We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect (Contract) to support a critical strategic initiative to assess, map, and rationalize our technology estate. As a software company that also hosts instances of our products for customers, we are focused on gaining a clearer understanding of our business and technical capabilities, their alignment to products, and opportunities for rationalization and reuse.
This role is central to enabling greater agility, cost optimization, and reuse across our platform and application landscape.Who's Instem? Well, we're a global provider of bespoke industry leading software solutions and services, which facilitate the pre-clinical, and clinical phases of the drug discovery process. We have over fifteen products in our portfolio, used by over 700 pharmaceutical clients (including all the top 20!)Instem is a unique, solutions-based organisation. We've doubled in size over the last 3 years through new business and product enhancement, but also via acquisition.   • Estate Analysis & Capability Mapping
o Analyse the current application and infrastructure estate.o Map business and technical capabilities to products and services.o Develop visualizations and documentation of capability models, relationships, and dependencies.
  • Capability Profiling & Rationalization
o Assess capabilities and applications for potential rationalization, reuse, or decommissioning.o Identify redundancies, overlaps, and capability gaps.
  • Reuse & Service Isolation Analysis
o For candidates identified for reuse, perform deep-dive assessments to determine feasibility of isolating capabilities as shared services.o Define functional and technical boundaries, integration points, and change impacts.
  • Migration Assessment
o Analyse and document requirements, dependencies, assumptions, and risks for migrating capabilities to alternative platforms or hosting environments.o Recommend migration strategies or transition plans as appropriate.
  • Collaboration & Communication
o Engage with product teams, engineering, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to gather insights and validate findings.o Present architectural findings and recommendations to leadership in clear, decision-ready formats.Skills you'll need:
  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect in software product or SaaS-oriented organizations.
  • Strong capability in capability modelling, application portfolio management, and enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, BIZBOK, ArchiMate).
  • Experience conducting rationalization and reuse assessments across complex IT estates.
  • Expertise in defining service boundaries and understanding microservice- or API-based architecture principles.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and visualization skills (e.g., Visio, LeanIX, Archi, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of various coding languages, operating systems and databases.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity through structured analysis.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong ability to evaluate and provide standards of working, best practices etc
  • Experience of using Quality Management Systems and its application to tasks associated with this role
