About the Job :The OpenShift engineering team is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to be hired in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will work on the next evolution of the must-gather diagnostics tool — a core utility used to collect cluster logs and support data in OpenShift Container Platform. You'll be responsible for all aspects of quality for Red Hat OpenShift, including designing test plans, extending automation frameworks, and developing new automated tests for both back and front ends. You will make sure our solutions fulfill the highest possible enterprise quality, performance, usability, and supportability. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will gain a deep technical understanding of a variety of popular technologies, including containers, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, etc.What will you do?Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans across various OpenShift environments, including large-scale clusters.Conduct thorough performance and scale testing to identify bottlenecks and areas for optimizationDevelop and maintain automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage for the related functionalities.Analyze test results and performance data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvementConduct failure analysis, explore, identify and document new bugs, advocate for the resolution of bugs and communicate the impact on customers to developers and support;Coordinate cross components teams to be responsible for integration testing, regression testing and bug verificationWork with the product release related teams to be responsible for the product delivery relatedWhat will you bring?Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.5+ years of experience in software quality engineering or related roles.Good understanding of Kubernetes or OpenShift architectures.Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2, Google Compute Engine (GCE), or Microsoft AzureExperience with performance testing and analysis.Experience with debugging and troubleshooting complex software issues in linux systems.Familiarity with diagnostic and log collection tools.Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their potential application to system diagnostics.Understanding of customer support workflows and requirements.Experience with testing in large-scale distributed environments.The following are considered a plus:Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Go, Bash, Python etc.Knowledge of Linux containers, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, or Red Hat OpenShiftKnowledge of CI/CD and JenkinsKnowledge of security testingContributions to open source projects or publicly available code samples Design, develop and maintain automation frameworks and scripts with Ruby, Golang and Python for OpenShift testing and implementationParticipate in the test planning and product planning processesConduct new feature research and design test cases#LI-AK1About Red Hatis the world’s leading provider of enterprise software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
