POSITION DESCRIPTIONPosition Title: Software Validation Technician IIReports Directly to: Software Quality ManagerPosition Overview:The Software Validation Technician II tests software and systems utilizing white box, regression, and automated testing in order to ensure high quality of deployed systems. Works with Business and Software Analysts to define test plans/scenarios/cases and comprehensively documents the execution of these test decks. Maintains detailed knowledge of assigned systems in order to be able to set up installations from scratch and troubleshoot issues as necessary. Works to deliver high-quality systems to our clients and additionally, would provide Level 1 – 3 support to in-house developed applications. This position will interact with Operations, IT, Processing, Programming and Validations teams to coordinate the resolution of the support issuesPrimary Responsibilities:· Plan, design, and document effective test cases and testing procedures.· Evaluate and test new or modified software programs, ensuring compliance to defined software requirements and established guidelines.· Test comprehensive functionality and new features of systems/software utilized at DATAMARK, including 3rd-party software packages.· Actively use every function and tool of relevant software solutions in order to develop a deep understanding of the product and how it works.· Proactively identify bugs, performance and reliability issues, as well as other potential failures.· Accurately and thoroughly document the progress and outcomes of the testing process.· Monitor program performance after implementation to prevent reoccurrence of program operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation.· Provide application instructions for users.· Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd level technical support as Needed by gathering and documenting requests using IT/Software support procedures. Must maintain accurate documentation of requests and follow escalation procedures. This will include programming/writing code in some instances, in the programming languages used in DATAMARK.· Performs all trouble shooting to assigned support issues and fixes issue or coordinates fixing with relevant expert(s).Minimum Qualifications:· Education Requirements:o Bachelor’s degree in technical area, or equivalent work experience· Field Experience:o At least five years of experience in software testing or software development· Position Experience:o At least three years of experience in a software testing or development position· Other Qualifications:o Broad knowledge of technology fundamentals across all disciplines, e.g. software delivery, datacenter environment, network architecture, IT security, IT project management - Preferredo Experience working in an ITIL environment. Knowledge of industry standards for Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management, Configuration Management. ITIL Foundations certification (v3 or v4) - Preferredo Experience using IT Service Management workflow systems such as ServiceNow, Remedy, Service Manager, etc. - Preferredo Background of IT delivery in multiple industries and locations. Experience working in both matrix and pyramid organization - PreferredRequired Skills:· Deep understanding of the software development life cycle.· Strong interest in technology and its advancement.· Demonstrates proficiency with Black Box testing at the unit, integration and system levels.· Demonstrates proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English in both technical and non-technical contexts.· Demonstrates a high level of organization, initiative and attention to detail and able to gather and compile information from different sources.· Must be able to multitask and work effectively under deadline pressure.· Demonstrates dedication to a high-level of customer service.· Must work effectively as a team player.· Must be able to work with moderate supervision.
