About the Position : VSEP is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Assistant Professor to join its vibrant faculty. The successful candidate will play a key role in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Economics, contributing to research activities, and mentoring students. Responsibilities : Develop and deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Economics, ensuring effective teaching and learning outcomes. Conduct independent and collaborative research in areas of specialization, including publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting findings at conferences. Supervise and guide postgraduate students in their research endeavors. Contribute to the academic development of the School by engaging in curriculum development, committee work, and other relevant institution building activities. Maintain high standards of scholarship and professional conduct. Qualifications : Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related discipline (Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting the award of the degree may also apply). Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with a strong commitment to student learning and development. Strong research record, with publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or presentations at conferences. Specialization in one or more of the following areas: Health Economics, Macroeconomics, Public Finance, Public Policy, Governance, and Econometrics. Proficiency in quantitative methods and research software, such as Python, R, STATA, or similar tools, is highly desirable. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
