Job Description:What You'll DoAvalara is seeking a dedicated and organized Partner Engagement Desk Specialist to join our team. As a Partner Engagement Desk Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Avalara's partner ecosystem, ensuring our partners have a seamless experience engaging with our partner program, navigating our partner portal, and effectively communicating with various business units at Avalara. This is a highly collaborative role that requires close coordination with multiple Avalara teams, including Partner Services, Partner Support, Strategic Alliances, Marketing and Sales. xciting about the job.
Job Duties1. Partner Program Expertise:
  • Become an expert on Avalara's partner program, understanding its structure, benefits, and requirements.
  • Educate new partners on the program, including related benefits/requirements and providing necessary resources.
  • Ensure partners are set up correctly in systems, validate partner program enrollment and coding by utilizing partner portal (PRM) and Salesforce (CRM). Facilitates processes related to program membership eligibility and accuracy within systems; update Salesforce and other internal documentation as needed (data hygiene).
  • Responsible for adherence to program policy, guidelines, processes.
2. Partner Portal Navigation:
  • Assist partners in navigating our partner portal, ensuring they can access necessary tools, resources, and information.
  • Troubleshoot any portal-related issues and escalate technical problems to the appropriate teams for resolution.
  • Provide general account management support to partners (commissions, contract, account provisioning).
3. Timely Responsiveness:
  • Ensure a high level of responsiveness to partner inquiries and requests, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Proactively engage with partners to gather feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Help facilitate timely responses from internal teams on partner requests/inquires.
  • Triage requests to identify critical or blocking issues which should be addressed quickly.
4. Effective Communication:
  • Project manage partner-related tickets/requests routed to the Avalara teams and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Avalara organization.
  • Facilitate communication between partners and internal teams to address partner inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of partner interactions, issues, and resolutions.
  • Generate reports and insights on partner feedback and requirements to improve our partner program and services.
  • Provide updates to internal teams on current status of partner requests.
6. Training and Support:
  • Develop training materials and resources to help partners understand and utilize Avalara's program and related benefits effectively.
  • Offer ongoing support and guidance to partners as they navigate compliance-related challenges.
What You'll Need to be Successful
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a customer-facing or partner-facing role, ideally in a technology or software company.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Project management skills.
  • Strong issue triaging skills.
  • Experience with Partner Relationship Management (PRM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and issue tracking applications.
  • Mindmatrix, Salesforce, and Jira working knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in using software tools and platforms for documentation and communication.
  • Highly responsive and adaptable to change in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with partner programs.
  • Knowledge of SaaS market.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for partner meetings or events.
