- Ensure safe work practices are adhered to at all times. Co-ordinate on Safe work practices with the Operations Manager and EHS Lead
- Maintain a clean and orderly work place within the department.
- Ensure that all work conducted meets current standards as defined by such national, state and local regulatory agencies.
- This position may be assigned to alternate shifts as necessary to carry out the department’s objectives and tasks
- Maintain an environment for professional and ethical conduct within the Facility.
- Successful Manufacturing Engineer possess a background in team-oriented environments, a positive attitude, an ability to effect and accept change, a demonstrated ability to make well informed decisions and a positive perspective regarding the work environment.
- Have excellent communication skills both verbal & written are required, along with the ability to influence other departments and disciplines to work together to meet the needs of the customers.
- Experience with Steam Turbine Manufacturing process is preferred.
- Experience in Packaging jobs,
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and basic knowledge of fabrication and machining manufacturing processes is required
- Must be comfortable in a heavy manufacturing environmental and work with limited supervision.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required. Familiarization with ISO, ASME, and API codes and regulations
- Knowledge of Quality systems and standards
- Knowledge of CNC & conventional Machines & tools
- Work experience on SMAW, TIG welding, NDT, Heat Treatment, and Grit blasting and balancing are added advantage.
- Intermediate experience and knowledge of complex lean concepts and tools.
- Creatively solve complex problems by using quality tools & Familiar with office software’s & ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety standards and Compliance (EHS).
- Reviewing all manufactured and purchased customer requirements,
- Securing all necessary technical support for component processing in shop or at supplier place,
- Providing necessary supports the development and implementation of continuous improvement activities related to Machining ,Assembly ,Piping, Welding, Packaging & Test Operations , but not limited to establishing best practices, standard work instructions, safety culture and habits, and good housekeeping techniques.
- The execution of training programs(s) associated with the development of new manufacturing process driving continuous improvement.
- Analyzes detailed D Specs and Quality Plans to identify all special requirements on all shop orders, to ensure correct sequencing of routing.
- Provides technical liaison between Manufacturing and Engineering. Issues instructions on new, improved methods of manufacture.
- Assist Production Engineering in solving quality/manufacturing/design problems and dispositioning of NCRs.
- Manage and coordinate efforts to eliminate the root causes for monitoring and controlling scrap and rework costs.
- Drive Continuous Improvement with new processes, Capex, and Lean Manufacturing principles
- Process route sheets for daily ECC's, NCR's and emergency shop requests.
- Develops routing for a wide variety of component parts and assemblies, focusing on best practice.
- Actively participates in cost reduction activities seeking to lower manufacturing costs.
- Interprets Engineering instructions and translate into routing sequences.
- Reviews designs for manufacturability, quality, and low cost.
- Assist welders, machine operators, assemblers, and quality personnel in trouble shooting when needed. Rewrite routings when necessary based solely on machine tool availabilities.
- Generate the C.N.C. Programs required for production requirements.
- Generate the Route Sheets required for production requirements.
- Generate the Tooling Orders for all fixturing required for production requirements. Also by assisting tool designers in pre designing the fixtures.
- Recommend process changes to reduce lead time and cost.
- Daily use of the following software and databases: Oracle, Excel, Solutions, Process Specs, Material Specs, P sheets, D specs and Quality Plans.
- Continually upgrades own education, keeping current with state-of-the-art methods of manufacturing.
- Assists machine operators with trouble shooting when required.
- Fills in for Shop Supervisor when required.
- Participates actively in company Quality Improvement Program.
- Develop and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Adhere to good housekeeping and safety in all areas.
- Monitors and controls ISO 9001 requirements were applicable.
- Travels as required by job to review vendors and processes.
