About the JobThe Data And AI team is a highly focused effort to lead digital-first execution and transformation at Red Hat leveraging data strategically for our customers, partners, and associates.We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer ( full stack developer with proven frontend and backend experience) to join our team in Bengaluru, India. In this role, you will build the Dataverse Console, the central-single interface for interacting with Dataverse using React JS primarily to support the user experience vision for our Data and AI (Agentic and Generative AI) products. You'll need to be both creative and self-motivated, proficient in building web applications, and able to work with cross-functional teams from across the company. The primary area of expertise for this position is React JS and its associated frameworks (ie. TypeScript, Redux, REST API, CSS, JSX, HTML, etc). As a Senior Software Engineer, you will also collaborate with developers from other Red Hat projects and open source communities.What will you do?Contribute to the development of Dataverse PlatformWork together with the engineers in the Platform team, UX designers, and Product Managers to provide the necessary user interface(s) for the Red Hat Developer Product portfolioWork closely with Platform customersTake responsibility and ownership of development work and strive to produce quality softwareWork closely with Quality and Documentation team ensuring your deliverables are coveredWork in an Agile environment and prioritize workload around release schedulesConduct design and code review sessionsEnforce code quality and performanceAnalyze feasibility by presenting proofs of conceptsApply design patterns to solve problemsInvestigate and improve the established development processesParticipate in the community by writing blogs, participating in forums, and speaking at user groups and conferencesDeliver one or more critical software solutions on time and on (or under) budgetCreate tools that you yourself would like to useWhat will you bring?Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field5+ years of software development experience, especially web development-related (frontend and backend) projects.Experience developing and building scalable web-based applications (frontend and backend) on the cloud.Some working experience in the React.js or Node.js framework for the frontend is preferred.Understanding of JavaScript is mandatory.Proficient in HTML, CSS, and front-end technologies.Good experience with backend technologies/stack (one of the following: Go, Python, Ruby, Java)Understanding of web protocols like REST, gRPC, etc.Being able to learn new technologies and working collaboratively with back-end and SRE engineersThe following are considered a plus:Huge plus if you have worked on building complex back-end pieces of web applicationsExperience with development/build tools like TypeScript, Git, webpack, yarn, etcExperience with testing frameworks like Jest, React Testing library, PlayWright, and CypressExperience working with a distributed teamExperience with agile developmentFamiliarity with open source development, projects, and processes is a plusFamiliarity or interest with OpenShift, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms in generalAbout Red Hatis the world’s leading provider of enterprise software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
