
Process Safety & Functional Safety Lead Engineer

- Lead multiple projects, executing process and functional safety assessment on plant systems (HRSG, water steam cycle and BOP) following Process Safety methodology based on IEC61882 and Functional Safety process based on IEC61511 for Gas Power.
- Monitor progresses to ensure GE Vernova priorities are met: Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost in this order.
- Work closely with all other interface functions to execute Process and Functional Safety, to eliminate inefficiencies and to improve overall productivity, ensuring that hazards are properly identified and mitigated, and the required actions are correctly followed up.
- Partner closely with other Engineering teams to ensure regulatory requirements flow-down and common process/practices to minimize non-value-added engineering and design efforts.
- Actively support business initiatives in Quality, Lean, Continuous Improvement related to Process and Functional Safety.
- Drive continuous improvement to meet or exceed the annual priorities.
- Lead, drive, and resolve safety and critical quality issues for successful execution of Process and Functional Safety projects, including partner with site teams to resolve site commissioning issue for successful startups and commissioning.
- Interact with Authorities and Inspection/Certification Agencies to validate compliance to safety standards.
- Support the team to develop standard work and daily management to ensure operational excellence.
- Ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in international companies in energy business. (more than 2 years), preferably in engineering or project management.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
- Good understanding of Process Safety (IEC61882) and Functional safety (IEC61511) International Standards.
- Good communication and presentation abilities.
- Good organizational, facilitation and leadership skills.
- Occasional travel required.
- Expertise working with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in working with internal and external parties (Exida, Ineris, TUV).
- Proven ability to work with engineering, project management, inspection & certification companies to expediently resolve technical issues.
- Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain good relationships with stakeholders.
- Flexible and adaptable to changes in priorities.
- Gas Power Technology tools knowledge: PLM, PTS, eDRB, Reliability calculation tools (e.g. ExSILentia).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 on quality management skills.
