We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer who is also proficient in vendor management. The ideal candidate will be adept at utilizing SolidWorks and AutoCAD for design and drafting, including proficiency in GD&T constraints. Additionally, the candidate should possess knowledge and experience in sheet metal design, fabrication processes, and general manufacturing principles. Responsibilities: Mechanical Design: Designing mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, ensuring adherence to GD&T constraints and industry standards. Vendor Management: Identifying, selecting, and managing vendors for procurement of materials and components. Negotiating contracts, ensuring quality, and maintaining positive vendor relationships.Sheet Metal and Fabrication: Designing and optimizing sheet metal components and overseeing fabrication processes to ensure efficiency and quality.Manufacturing Knowledge: Understanding manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and assembly, to design components that are manufacturable and cost-effective. Client Handling: Interfacing with clients to understand their requirements, providing technical expertise, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 3D modeling and drafting. Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in design. Experience in vendor management, including negotiation. Knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication processes. Familiarity with various manufacturing techniques and their impact on design. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and team collaboration. Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing or engineering industry. Certification in SolidWorks or AutoCAD. Experience with project management software for tracking and managing design projects.
