- Identify misinformation concerning U.S. & UK current events and global breaking news stories
- Proactively pitch fact-check articles addressing misinformation
- Conduct research and reporting at speed to establish the facts behind claims
- Distil jargon and complex issues to lay out the required context that is both accurate and accessible
- Write clear, concise English copy without bias
- Uphold Reuters standards and the Trust Principles
- Be deeply familiar with social media as a newsgathering tool and how misinformation travels online
- Support the Reuters fact-checking team in writing misinformation trend reports
- Work as part of our friendly, collaborative and global fact-checking team
- Leverage generative AI models to enhance and streamline our existing fact-checking workflows
- This role is based in Bangalore and will require occasional weekend work.
- At least three years of news reporting and/or fact-checking experience
- Impeccable writing in English under tight deadlines
- An interest in current affairs and sharp news judgment
- Track record in identifying trending content online and misinformation
- Deep familiarity with features of all leading social networks
- A skeptical eye and inquisitive nature
