Ummeed CDC is a non-profit organization providing family-centered care to children withdevelopmental disabilities and their families. Our cross-functional team of professionals provideevidence-based care to these children and their families, based on their needs. Besides providingthe clinical services at the center in Lower Parel, Ummeed also delivers training and is involvedin community and advocacy initiatives in the developmental disabilities space.About “the position” at Ummeed:The Autism Intervention Team works with families of children on the Autism Spectrum to developappropriate goals meaningful to the families and their children, and implement treatment plan towork on core challenges of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Treatment plans are made andimplemented with Evidence Based Approaches for Autism. Additionally, the Autism Teamconducts training programs for parents of children and other Professionals working with childrenwith ASD. A Junior Autism Intervention Therapists' work profile will include getting trained inAutism Intervention, assessment of children and families, assistance with organization andconducting of training programs.Primary Responsibilities:
Undergoing training in Autism Intervention Services to learn evidence based approaches
Assessing children with Autism and their families
Developing intervention and home program for the child and family
Develop and monitor goals for child and family
Documentation of sessions
Assist the team for short term and long term training programs.
Assist the team with logistic related work for the team as and when required
Working with care team involving professionals from multiple disciplines like
Developmental pediatrician, Social worker etc.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy/ Speech Therapy / Clinical Psychology /Special EducationEssentials Skills Required:
Prior experience of working with or observing children with Autism and an interest in
working with children with Autism
Commitment to working at Ummeed (at least 2 years)
Good/ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Good computer skills
Adherence to deadlines and appointments
