Employment Type: Full-time, Onsite (Office-based role)About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with strong expertise in data modeling, DAX, and healthcare analytics. The role involves designing and delivering advanced healthcare data dashboards with complex modeling, optimized performance, and integration with cloud data platforms like Google BigQuery. The ideal candidate should be highly skilled in point-in-time analysis, incremental refresh, drill-through, custom visualizations, and have strong debugging skills in DAX. Experience in DirectQuery and Import modes is essential.Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy Power BI dashboards and reports for healthcare analytics use cases.
- Build and optimize data models (Fact/Dimension, Star/Snowflake schemas) for performance and scalability.
- Write and debug advanced DAX measures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Implement incremental refresh strategies for large and evolving datasets.
- Create point-in-time historical dashboards for patient trends, outcomes, and longitudinal analysis.
- Develop interactive features such as Drill-through, Drill-down, Bookmarks, Data export and Tooltips.
- Build custom visualizations using Power BI visuals, marketplace visuals, or custom scripting.
- Work with both DirectQuery and Import mode, optimizing performance based on data size and use case.
- Integrate data from Google BigQuery, SQL Server, Azure, AWS, and other healthcare data sources.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical teams to translate requirements into actionable BI solutions.
- Ensure data quality, HIPAA compliance, and governance in all reporting solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in BI/reporting with proven expertise in Power BI.
- Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M language), with debugging and performance optimization skills.
- Expertise in DirectQuery and Import methods and when to apply each.
- Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery and cloud-based data warehouses.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and tuning.
- Experience with incremental refresh and handling healthcare datasets.
- Ability to design point-in-time dashboards and historical trend analyses.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Prior experience in healthcare analytics (payer, provider, or clinical data).
- Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare data governance.
- Experience with AWS/Azure Data Services.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes.
- Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics or custom visuals.
