- Design and develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software.
- Ensure that all designs meet technical, structural, and organizational specifications.
- Work closely with engineers and other team members to create and implement mechanical designs and drawings.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and engineering principles.
- Test and evaluate theoretical designs to ensure efficiency and reliability.
- Identify potential operational issues and propose practical solutions in design plans.
- Manage and plan complex projects, including resource allocation, timelines, and budgeting.
- Conduct root cause analysis when dealing with design problems, formulating effective resolutions.
- Utilize advanced CAD tools and software to streamline the design process and improve efficiency.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on the latest advancements in mechanical design and industry trends.
- Monitor and assess the performance of mechanical systems in operation and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and other legal guidelines in all design processes.
- Prepare and present technical reports summarizing project details and specifications.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is highly desirable.
- Considerable hands-on experience as a Mechanical Designer, with a focus on complex, innovative projects.
- Profound knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- High level of proficiency in the use of advanced CAD/CAM software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Pro/Engineer for dynamic and static mechanical system design.
- Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and experience in cutting-edge simulation tools such as FEA and CFD.
- Outstanding problem-solving abilities to drive innovative design solutions.
- Experience with high-end Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, and experience driving mechanical design processes.
- Deep technical knowledge in a diverse range of mechanical engineering domains, including metallurgy, energy systems, or electro-mechanical systems.
- Proven ability to manage and lead technically complex projects, coordinating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing reliable, high-performance design solutions.
- Familiarity with the latest industry safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or a Chartered Engineer (CEng) status would be a distinct advantage.
- Commitment to continuous learning, staying up-to-date with industry trends, and advancements in mechanical design technology.
