A Mechanical Engineer Fresher in scrap processing (e.g., in steel, DRI, or recycling plants) maintains, operates, and optimizes heavy machinery like shredders, conveyors, and shears to ensure high uptime and safety. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, assisting in maintenance schedules, and overseeing material handling efficiency.Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • Maintenance & Reliability: Support proactive, predictive, and preventative maintenance for heavy processing equipment (shredders, shears, balers, conveyors).
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose, analyze, and resolve mechanical failures in real-time, performing root cause analysis.
  • Equipment Optimization: Analyze and improve performance of hydraulic systems, magnetic separators, and cranes to optimize throughput.
  • Production Monitoring: Monitor scrap processing metrics, ensuring consistent quality, productivity, and adherence to safe operational procedures (SOPs).
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all machinery operations comply with HSE regulations, reducing hazards related to heavy machinery and dust.
  • Project Support: Assist in installation, erection, and commissioning of new equipment or upgrades.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, material handling systems, hydraulic systems, and MS Office.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Attributes: Willingness to work in a, shop-floor environment and ability to learn quickly.
