Job PurposeResponsibility for diagnosis, developing medical intervention and delivery of clinical care in conformance with Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital, Charni Road, Mumbai standards NABH, JCI of medical and service excellence having 345+ beds.2. Key Responsibilities:Assist Director / Section Coordinator in formulating departmental policies and procedures as and when requiredDirect and coordinate activities of specialists, resident doctors, nurses and other medical staffParticipate in interdepartmental meetings, committees and fulfill the all the responsibilities as assignedParticipate as per the defined role during any internal / external disasterConduct OPDs as per the privileging and hospital policy as defined from time to timeTreat patients on out-patient basis, admit, investigate, perform treatment procedures as per the approved clinical privilegesCollate and analyze records, reports, test results, or examination information periodically to maintain, improvise the standard of carePrescribe or administer medication, therapy, and other specialized comprehensive medical care to treat / prevent / limit illness, disease, or injury identifying patient's risk status and recommending appropriate intervention to minimize riskExplain procedures and obtain consents and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patient and family on regular basis or as defined by the hospital policyPerform endoscopy, diagnostic and advanced therapeutic endoscopy emergency and elective as per privileges and international guidelinesManage patients with inflammatory bowel diseasesPerform diagnostic and therapeutic enteroscopy as per privilegesPerform and report capsule endoscopy for patients with IBD or occult bleedingPerform diagnostic small bowel ultrasonography in conjunction with radiologistMonitor patients conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary. Refer patient to other specialist as and when required after due intimation and explanation to patient / family at regular intervalsWork collaboratively with other disciplines and health professionals to develop effective and appropriate multidisciplinary approach and patient careEnsure timely discharges to keep LOS under standard Hospital normsEnsure that infection control protocols, antibiotic stewardship program are followed in wards & procedure roomsConduct regular ward rounds and work at a time that facilitates efficient patient flow and meets treatment objectives.Ensure accurate exchange of information during care transition and transfer of patients ensuring patient privacy & confidentiality is protected at all timesEnsure all medical documentations are maintained and updated on a daily basisPromote use of evidence-based practice and hand hygiene protocols in the procedure roomsComply with CME credits as per MMC guidelines in vogueAny other responsibility as assigned by the organization on the need basisSupport Director in introducing future specialty clinics.Plan, and participate in health programs in the hospital, Outreach activities, or communities for prevention and treatment of injuries or illnesses.Ensure clinical care and infection control quality indicators are within the defined bench markActively participate and be accountable for implementation of all quality programs to ensure continuous quality improvement in the departmentEnsure adherence to internationally accepted standards of care, including but not limited to those recommended by JCI, NABH and other quality systemsFollow all infection control protocols during the endoscopy proceduresActively participate in infection control and prevention activities, campaigns, awareness sessions etc.Assist the Director in planning & achieving annual topline budgetAssist Director in planning capex / opex in terms of medical equipment and instruments, consumables and supplies to support routine and contingency operationMonitor optimal utilization of available resources.Ensure induction / orientation and continuous training of functional and technical skills of the team membersBe a mentor to junior medical staff and guide them on the departmental processes and SOPsEnsure adequate teaching to the DNB and other fellows in the departmentBe available to cover colleague when they are sick / on leave (within the constraints of existing workload)Participate in clinical education, research, test medication, clinical tests to advance the practice of medicine as well as academic and teaching activities of the department as required by the DNB, or any other teaching programsEDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Necessary:MBBS, MD / DNB Internal Medicine and MD / DNB GasteroenterologyDesirable:Fellowships in advanced IBDRELEVANT EXPERIENCE:Necessary:7+ years experience post PGDesirable:Minimum 3-4 years in large multispecialty hospital
