Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
  • Modernization Strategy & Execution: Evaluate and prioritize modernization opportunities through a technology-first lens, leveraging a structured prioritization framework. Translate strategic goals into executable initiatives that deliver measurable business value.
  • Cross-Domain Collaboration: Partner with domain leaders and business owners to co-create delivery models for modernization. Guide teams in developing compelling business cases that align with enterprise priorities and drive impactful outcomes.
  • Team Formation & Leadership: Build and lead high-performing, cross-functional teams to execute modernization projects. Define organizational structures and roles in collaboration with technology partners to ensure delivery excellence.
  • Engineering & Architecture Evolution: Continuously refine software engineering and architectural patterns based on emerging technologies, industry trends, and internal learnings. Champion the adoption of modern development practices across the organization.
  • Scalable Delivery & Standardization: Lead the execution of initial modernization projects and evolve them into standardized, reusable patterns for broader adoption across the Digital, Analytics, and Technology (DAT) ecosystem.
  • Financial Stewardship & Executive Reporting: Oversee budget planning and resource allocation for modernization initiatives. Communicate progress, risks, and prioritization decisions to senior leadership and executive stakeholders with clarity and transparency.
  • Advisory & Enablement: Serve as a trusted advisor to domain teams, helping them plan, prioritize, and execute modernization efforts effectively. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Requirements:
  • 18+ years of relevant experience with a bachelors degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience. Including:
  • 8+ years of experience managing and leading engineering teams, including managing managers
  • Proven experience leading large, globally distributed teams
  • Strong cross-domain collaboration with business and technology partners
  • Demonstrated success in driving complex modernization initiatives
Preferred:
  • 5+ year of experience with messaging frameworks like IBM MQ, Rabbit MQ, Kafka
  • 7+ years of experience with public cloud native architectures preferably on AWS or GCP
  • 5+ years' experience with Relational and NoSQL databases like Oracle, MySQL, Aurora, PostGreSQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB, etc.
  • Experience with Java, Groovy, REST, JSON
  • Experience with OpenShift / Kubernetes / Docker / EKS
