This role is essential in building a strong foundation in the social sciences, preparing learners for higher-level studies and informed citizenship.---Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive, engaging, and curriculum-compliant lesson plans for English for Grades 8 and 9.
- Implement student-centered teaching methodologies, including project-based learning, group discussions, and interactive activities.
- Assess student learning through regular quizzes, assignments, projects, and examinations, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and academic performance.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and department heads to align teaching strategies with school-wide academic goals.
- Utilize digital tools and educational technology to enhance classroom instruction and student engagement.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field; postgraduate qualification (MA) preferred.
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., B.Ed., NCTE-approved qualification) required.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of teaching experience in a school setting, preferably in Grades 8–9.
- Strong command of English communication skills for instruction, assessment, and parent interaction.
- Proven ability to create dynamic, student-focused lesson plans and deliver them effectively.
- Demonstrated experience in classroom management and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- Proficiency in using digital learning platforms and tools (e.g., Google Classroom, MS Office, LMS).
