Job Title : Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Designer_SP3DLocation : Vadodara (Gujarat)Experience : 12 YearsIndustry : Chemical, Petrochemical, and Oil & Gas (O&G)Notice Period : 15 Days / ImmediatePosition Overview:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Designer with expertise in 3D modeling using SP3D and detailed design deliverables for both greenfield and brownfield projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in preparing I&C design drawings, 3D models, and participating in model reviews, with a strong understanding of applicable industry codes and standards.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop I&C design deliverables across all design stages in compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
  • Create and modify 3D models using SP3D for:
  • Cable trays and conduits
  • Instrument equipment, Junction boxes, Remote I/O and local panels
  • Analyser shelters and Multi Cable Transits (MCTs)
  • Participate and contribute to 3D model reviews and incorporate review comments.
  • Prepare and review key I&C design documents:
  • Instrument Hook-ups
  • Loop Diagrams
  • Tray and Conduit Layouts
  • Location Plans
  • Trench Layouts
  • Conduit Wiring and Modelling Drawings
  • Junction Box & Panel Wiring Diagrams
  • Functional Loop Schematics
  • Material Take-offs (BOM/BOQ) for Cables, Trays, Tubing
  • Cable Schedules
  • Perform interdisciplinary design checks (IDC) of I&C and other discipline drawings.
  • Ensure design compliance with Quality Systems and project-specific procedures.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to obtain and incorporate necessary inputs.
  • Provide support during construction and installation phases as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of installation standards, construction sequence, access/egress, and wiring schemes for ESD/DCS, RTU/SCADA, and LV systems.
  • Understand and implement cable separation requirements, particularly for safety systems and gas detection systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or relevant engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in SP3D I&C modeling and design for Oil & Gas or Chemical sector projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, SPR, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards applicable to I&C design (e.g., ISA, IEC, NEC, etc.).
  • Experience working on both greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Ability to independently execute and review all I&C design deliverables.
  • Familiar with instrument installation practices and construction interface requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working on international projects/clients preferred.
  • Team player with a collaborative attitude and ability to deliver under tight schedules.
