- Role Overview The Senior Manager in ACR will lead complex accounting, compliance, and financial reporting engagements, manage senior client relationships, drive quality and risk management, and contribute to practice growth and people development. The role requires strong technical depth, leadership maturity, and commercial acumen. Key Responsibilities Client Delivery & Technical Excellence Lead end-to-end accounting, financial reporting, and compliance engagements for large and/or complex clients (India and global). Oversee preparation and review of financial statements under IGAAP, Ind AS, IFRS and/or US GAAP, ensuring high quality and audit readiness. Provide resolution on complex accounting matters including revenue recognition, consolidation, foreign exchange, financial instruments, business combinations, lease accounting, and impairment. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring timely issue resolution and minimal audit observations. Ensure strong governance over closing processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and ageing clean-up. Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams (Managers, Assistant Managers, Seniors). Review work outputs, provide structured feedback, and coach teams on technical and soft skills. Drive resourcing, workload planning, and capability building within the ACR practice. Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Stakeholder & Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with CXO-level client stakeholders. Collaborate with Partners, Directors, and cross-service teams (Tax, Audit, Consulting). Support audits and inspections by ensuring robust documentation and strong technical positions. Practice Growth & Commercial Contribution Support business development initiatives including RFPs, proposals, client presentations, and account expansion. Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities within existing accounts. Contribute to development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), templates, and best practices. Drive efficiency through process improvements, automation, and use of digital tools/ERPs (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, etc.). Risk Management & Quality Ensure compliance with EY risk management, independence, and quality standards. Proactively identify delivery, compliance, and reputational risks and drive mitigation plans. Maintain strong documentation and review controls across engagements. Skills & Competencies Technical Skills Strong expertise in Financial Accounting & Reporting Hands-on experience across Ind AS / IFRS / IGAAP (US GAAP exposure preferred) Audit coordination and closure experience ERP exposure (SAP / Oracle / MS Dynamics or similar) Strong analytical and review skills Leadership & Behavioral Skills Strong people leadership and mentoring capability Excellent written and verbal communication Ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage complex conversations Commercial mindset with client-centric approach High ownership and execution rigor Education & Experience Chartered Accountant (CA) Typically 12-15+ years of relevant experience, with consulting or Big 4 background preferred Proven experience in managing large teams and multiple concurrent engagements
