Core Responsibilities:Design & Documentation:- Develop and modify electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations for building projects.System Integration:- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other MEP disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.Code Compliance:- Ensure all designs adhere to relevant electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.Cost Estimation:- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for electrical components and systems.Construction Support:- Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing shop drawings, conducting site visits, and resolving design issues.Quality Assurance:- Inspect and test installed electrical systems to ensure functionality and compliance with design specifications.Project Management:- Manage project documentation, track progress, and report on project status.Equipment Selection:- Select appropriate electrical equipment based on design requirements and energy efficiency considerations.Specific Tasks:Power Distribution:- Design and specify power distribution systems, including transformers, switchgear, panelboards, and wiring.Lighting Design:- Design interior and exterior lighting systems, considering energy efficiency and visual comfort.Emergency Power Systems:- Design and specify emergency power systems, such as generators and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).Fire Alarm Systems:- Design and specify fire alarm systems, including initiating devices, notification appliances, and control panels.Data and Communication Systems:- Design and specify data and communication systems, including structured cabling and network infrastructure.Security Systems:- Design and specify security systems, such as access control and surveillance systems.Sustainable Design:- Incorporate sustainable design principles into electrical systems, such as energy-efficient lighting and renewable energy sources.Required Skills:Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, building codes, and industry standards.Design Software Proficiency: Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant design software.Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve electrical design issues.Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other team members.Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
