- Managing accounting for complex events such as merger, restructure, dividend distributions, share based payment, pensions etc. under IFRS.
- Writing up papers and presenting them to key committees like Balance Sheet Steering Committee, external auditors, senior management etc on key matters and issues.
- Deliver a well-controlled (timely and accurate) GL close and Reporting process under IFRS for the entities in scope.
- Providing robust analytical review of P&L and Balance Sheet and key MI.
- Ensure robust balance sheet substantiation with adequate evidence of review of in scope accounts.
- Be responsible for reviewing and monitoring adequacy of internal controls in the process. Establish and run a strong quality control framework for outputs and activities.
- Coordinate with the group finance teams for preparation of accounts, timely closure of GL, completion of Site Reporting.
- Deliver process improvement / efficiency. Partner with change management to support continuing process re-engineering initiatives.
- Drive governance on exceptions. Seek inputs from various stakeholders
- Have a good knowledge of Repo/Reverse Repo reporting requirements
- Lead new projects/assignments/process: Identify, Drive, Build & operate it as BAU
- Connect with other departments for end to end and satisfactory service delivery.
- Ability to prioritize and plan work in an efficient manner.
- Maintain defined operations Risk framework
- Adherence to Group policies, IFRS reporting requirements, audit, controls and compliance requirements. This also includes and is not limited to Declaration of secrecy, data protection act, health, safety and security, clear desk policy
- Ensure BC plan is documented, agreed with stakeholders and tested for all the processes as agreed
- Responsible for timely update and maintenance of RCAs, BIAs, PLAs and ensuring all other documents like the SOPs are in place and updated.
- Robust back up planning for uninterrupted service delivery.
- Financial Controller- Ensure required support is provided and the process is managed as per the agreed KPIs and continuously improve service levels. Attend/Organize all business Governance calls /meetings and drive issue resolution as required.
- Other Teams- Partner with Product Control and Inter-Company team to ensure a robust end to end booking and reporting process. Work proactively with Financial Reporting & Regulatory reporting teams to ensure requirements are understood and complied and capabilities are developed.
- Controls Office- Timely recording of RCA and Ops loss incidents and issues and updation of SOX and other control procedures.
- FA Central Team and Finance Change: Partner and identify ideas for automation and efficiency and implement them. Leverage solutions developed by other areas to improve process.
- Wider FA Teams - Sharing and implementation of best practises
- CA/CPA/ACCA/MBA/ICWAI with at least 8+ years of post-qualification experience in accounting and reporting.
- Prior experience in month end closure processes and Site Reporting (preferably UK entity) is required.
- Excellent communication skills, including experience of explaining complex technical matters simply. Strong command over spoken and written English is essential for the role.
- Experience of Holding Company in Group or Regional consolidation is preferred.
- Proven track record of role in controllership in BFSI sector and sound knowledge of financial products and businesses such as Retail, Private, Commercial Banking and Global Banking etc.
- Good knowledge/prior experience in usage of automation tools like Xceptor, python, sql or visualisation tools will have an added advantage.
- Experience of being part of a major transformation/change programme or in set-up of a new team/process.
- Experience of working with colleagues and stakeholders cross-border in a multinational organization.
- Working/detailed knowledge of risk and control frameworks and remediation.
