Responsibilities & Key DeliverablesAs the Manager of MQA for Transmission and Axle at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, your primary responsibilities will include: * Providing comprehensive system support and mentoring to department staff, ensuring that both processes and the quality of outgoing products adhere to the specified requirements.
  • Addressing customer complaints through detailed failure analysis, identifying ICA/PCA processes, and communicating planned corrective actions to the Product Verification Team and Service departments.
  • Maintaining a strong customer focus throughout various buy-off stages and ensuring alignment with audit results through regular calibration checks.
  • Supporting detailed analyses of quality concerns and ensuring that quality tools and techniques are employed in accordance with MQS guidelines.
  • Facilitating the application of quality tools within all manufacturing sectors to achieve defect-free products.
  • Developing effective Management Information Systems (MIS) for accurate management reporting that is both timely and periodically updated.
  • Proactively identifying process gaps and concerns, executing corrective measures in collaboration with the Cross-Functional Team (CFT).
  • Managing Change Processes including Fitment Verification (FTR Approval), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities, and maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Overseeing timely completion of new project quality gateway deliverables for new models, ensuring that products are right-first-time.
  • Establishing and sustaining a robust Quality Management System according to ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 standards.
ExperienceThe ideal candidate will possess between 5 to 10 years of relevant experience, demonstrating a strong background in quality assurance within the automotive manufacturing sector. Experience with quality management systems and methodologies, coupled with hands-on experience in automotive powertrain components, is crucial for success in this role. Your expertise should reflect a deep understanding of industry standards and practices, positioned to translate these into actionable insights for your team.Industry PreferredWe prefer candidates with substantial experience in the automotive powertrain manufacturing OEM sector. Familiarity with the specific challenges and standards prevalent in this industry will be crucial for success. This includes understanding the nuances of manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction unique to automotive component production.QualificationsA Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Candidates with a strong theoretical foundation and practical application of mechanical engineering principles are especially encouraged to apply. Additional certifications related to quality management and assurance will be considered a significant advantage.General RequirementsGeneral requirements include: * A strong foundation in manufacturing processes, particularly in assembly and machine shop environments.
  • Proficient knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) systems.
  • Experience in Failure Analysis and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
  • Ability to utilise Problem Solving Tools effectively.
  • Skills in Team Management and collaboration.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
  • In-depth Product Knowledge of Transmissions, Transaxles, and Axles.
  • Familiarity with Gear Manufacturing and quality inspection processes.
  • Knowledge of Housing Machining techniques.
  • A Certified Auditor qualification will be advantageous.
Additionally, Six Sigma certifications are highly desirable and reflect an applicant's commitment to quality improvement methodologies.
