Position Chief Economist – On Contract Broad Responsibilities
Leading a team at Economic Intelligence Unit at the Bank's Corporate Centre, Mumbai.
Providing strategic inputs on macroeconomic and banking developments - India and global to the Top Management of the Bank.
Providing inputs on strategy and policy of the Bank based on macroeconomic developments.
Pivotal role in policy formulation, analysis and communicating to the outside world and has to be well conversant in Banking / financial / investment / economic policy domain.
Periodic analysis & presentation of the business profile of the Bank to its Stakeholders, Media and Public.
Responsible for contributing to the Bank's capability to identify and pursue export promotion strategies through current information services, and analysis through regular reports and specific studies on countries, industries, competitive export credit practices, international trade/fiscal/industries and developments in financial markets in India and abroad. Should possess expertise and in depth understanding of Domestic & Foreign Economic scenario with special focus on India's international trade and the global trade scenarios, macro-economic indicators, structural changes in the economy.
Understanding of Government's trade policy, economic policies, laws and regulations etc. which plays important role in the growth of the Bank.
Understanding of Econometrics modelling, forecasting and analysis.
Possess excellent presentation / communication - verbal and written skills with analytical insights into banking / economic issues.
Should have strategic leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills and strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Representing the Bank at various fora.
Promoting Exim Bank's citation for enhancing Bank's visibility.
Analysis on potential for trade and investment in sectors/ industries.
Providing inputs to GOI and other agencies on trade related issues through reports and interactions. 5 Educational Qualification
The candidate must be holding a Master's degree in economics from a recognized University. Doctorate degree in Economics / Banking / Finance from a recognized University will be preferable.
Minimum 60% aggregate marks / equivalent Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) in both Graduation and Post Graduation. Number of years of experience
Minimum 10 years of experience of working as Economist in a Commercial Bank / Financial Institution or other reputed Corporate / Rating Agencies / Organizations.
Publication in leading financial journals / books will be added advantage. Age Limit Maximum 55 years as on May 31, 2025.
