To support this mission, Syngenta’s Crop Protection is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Pune/Hyderabad/Goa. Lead and deliver portions of Syngenta's capital investment program. This involves ensuring timely implementation of new or improved assets, aligning with business requirements and adhering to budget, safety, and quality standards. Provide expert technical and project management guidance to team members. Collaborate with stakeholders to utilize fit-for-purpose engineering solutions meeting Syngenta's HSE and business needs.Accountabilities:
- Project Lifecycle Ownership: Manage the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to startup, for small to medium-sized projects or portfolios. This includes navigating ambiguity in early project phases and defining scope.
- Scope Definition & Trade-off Management: Translate business needs into project options, manage trade-offs, and select the best solution considering technology, operations, and business requirements.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to company policies, local legislation, and Syngenta's safety procedures (including risk assessments).
- Budget & Schedule Management: Estimate, monitor, and control project costs and timelines to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Team Management: Coordinate internal and external resources effectively.
- Engineering Standards & Design: Define engineering standards, develop detailed design packages, and ensure compliance with regulations. Collaborate with architects and engineers to create detailed designs.
- Commissioning: Implement and oversee the commissioning process to ensure system functionality.
- Project Management Best Practices: Utilize project management methodologies (including risk management and change control) for efficient project delivery.
- Capex efficiency & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process & value improvement initiatives.
- Collaboration: Effectively engage with stakeholders to gather information and ensure collaborative work delivery.
- 5 to 10 years of engineering project management experience in Agrochemical, Pharma, Chemical, or process industries.
- Proficiency in Proficiency in project management of engineering projects, procurement, and construction (EPC) processes.
- Graduate degree in engineering (PMI certification is a plus).
- Strong organizational, planning, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence colleagues at all levels and work effectively in a matrix organization.
- Proficiency in relevant digital tools.
- Ability to work in diverse cultural situations.
