  • Role Overview - Actuarial SME within the Special Projects team
Roles & Responsibilities:As an Actuarial Manager, you will be responsible for contributing to, leading and managing complex projects involving actuarial analyses, modelling, and data analysis. You will leverage your comprehensive knowledge and technical skills to provide strategic oversight and mentor team members. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards while also tracking the project's progress and adhering to timelines and budget.
  • Leading other team members to develop and execute complex actuarial analyses, data analysis, and modelling.
  • Identifying and implementing modelling improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity and ensure accuracy in analysis.
  • Leading project management, including planning, scheduling and coordinating work and resources effectively.
  • Guiding the process of development and implementation of cutting-edge actuarial tools and techniques to optimize processes and procedures.
  • Reviewing documentation and work performed by junior analysts; mentoring and managing them; providing them with strategic oversight and guidance.
  • Liaising and collaborating with other teams to develop innovative solutions and get requisite support, as needed.
Eligibility:
  • A Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), with a relevant major
  • 6 to 10 years of work experience in an actuarial / research role
  • Great actuarial exam progress (qualified / close to qualification) commensurate with the quantum of experience
  • Strong analytical / quantitative, problem solving, communication and leadership skills
  • Experience with actuarial modelling software and advanced-level programming expertise (R, Python, SQL, Excel, etc.)
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including leading projects from end-to-end with a proven track record of successful results
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and stakeholders
  • Experience in managing and/or providing mentorship to junior team members
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), with a relevant major
Great actuarial exam progress (qualified / close to qualification) commensurate with the quantum of experience
