Data Protection Officer - Bank

• Develop and oversee the bank's data protection strategy in India and offshore, including policy creation and implementation
• Ensure bank compliance with Indian data protection laws, including DPDP 2023, and other relevant regulations
• Perform Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and conduct regular reviews
• Deliver reports on data privacy laws to top management and the Board
• Conduct periodic data protection audits to ensure compliance and address any identified deficiencies
• Collaborate with Legal, IT, and Info Sec teams to stay updated on new processes and policies
• Provide education and training to staff on data protection laws and handling personal data
• Offer advice on IT system development, data protection notices, and obtaining consent from data subjects
• Advise and assist in managing any data breaches, including communication with regulatory authorities

• Graduation in Technology or relevant field with relevant certifications (such as CIPP, CIPT, etc.) preferred
• 15+ years of experience in Information Technology with 3-5 years of working experience in data protection & data privacy related roles preferably coming from Financial Services or Banking industry
• Strong knowledge on data privacy laws and other data protection & data security security
• Ability to work with cross functional teams, attention to details, organisational skills, etc.
• Experience of conducting data protection assessments and audits and ensuring highest level of compliance at organisation level
• Age criteria for qualification : 45 years to 60 years

• Lead the Data Privacy and Data Protection vertical for the bank
• Ensure all processes and systems are compliant with the relevant legislation
