WW What impact will you make?This is your opportunity to join Deloitte's Commercial Due Diligence practice, within our rapidly growing Indian joint venture division. Working on high profile international assignments, you will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of commercial due diligence projects, with a mix of both corporate and private equity transactions, within a highly commercial, client focused environment.The TeamDue diligence is now regarded as one of the most important milestones in a deal process and corporate finance.We provide you with the opportunity to utilize your experience of commercial / strategy consulting in a challenging new environment. You will have chance to assist the world's leading investment institutions and global corporates by working on international commercial due diligence engagements as a part of Deloitte's Global Member Firm network.You will assist private equity, corporate, and banking clients in maximizing value from their investment and lending transactions. The Commercial Due Diligence team is a core part of Deloitte's market leading Transaction Service team and provides commercial diligence and research expertise. Widely recognised as the most experienced transactions team, we support transactions in all industry sectors, across Deloitte's global network.The Commercial due diligence team is now enlarging its capability within the DIJV in Mumbai to meet an increasing demand from the 15 Deloitte member firms we serve. These include the UK, Canadian, German, Middle East, Japan, and other European Deloitte firms. This team supports the onshore team, often working alongside the financial diligence teams.Work you'll doWorking as part of a larger Deloitte commercial team you will be responsible for:
  • Carrying out high quality research, interviews and data analysis to support either projects or business development, using tools especially MS Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Assisting clients in understanding the true commercial capability of acquisitions or businesses planned for disposal;
  • Working with corporate and private equity clients. The nature of our work varies, but chances are your engagement will involve some or all of the following topics: assessment of market condition, understanding key value drivers, review of competitive landscape, analysis of company performance, and development of strategic options;
  • Producing high quality input into deliverables (usually detailed written reports) within agreed timescales, briefing Partner/Director accordingly. On larger deals this will involve supporting the production of report sections together with the wider diligence team (e.g. Financial DD, Operations DD, Consulting, Tax, etc.);
  • Supporting various marketing initiatives and practice development activities (e.g. pitch / proposal documents development, client presentations, key client account management, industry, geography, and product programs);
  • Having a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when operating within diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; and
  • Demonstrating M&A transaction services technical/risk management awareness and a clear understanding of the firm's commitment to creating a more inclusive culture.
EligibilityMasters in Finance / MBASkills RequiredWe are looking for people who enjoy addressing business problems in an analytical manner, who have the patience to structure decision making, and who strive to develop pragmatic recommendations, tempered by experience. To qualify for the role ideally you would have:
  • Commercial due diligence or strategy consulting experience, with a strong focus on both research and reporting;
  • Strong commercial acumen and project management capability;
  • Developed your skills in a top management consultancy or a corporate environment - preferably both;
  • Excellent academics with a good degree or equivalent qualification as a minimum;
  • Structural thinking, with strong analytical and business diagnostic skills (including excel);
  • Experience of working in a deal environment with senior management;
  • Enthusiastic and positive professional attitude;
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral (including PowerPoint);
  • A flexible approach to business demands and experience of working on short time horizons.
Successful applicants will be/have:
  • Excellent academic track record;
  • Transaction experience/exposure would be an advantage;
  • Strong report writing and reviewing skills, with an appropriate focus on attention to detail, conciseness and risk management;
  • Strong excel skills - quick and accurate manipulation of data;
  • Strong commercial acumen and market awareness;
  • Focused on high quality service; and
  • Fluency in written & verbal English.
