The role will be responsible for implementing safety systems, ensuring statutory compliance, conducting audits, and fostering a strong safety culture at project sites.Key Responsibilities
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices across project sites.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and legal safety requirements as per local, state, and central regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, JSA/JHA, and recommend mitigation measures.
- Carry out regular site inspections, safety audits, and toolbox talks; track corrective and preventive actions.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and client safety teams to ensure safety standards are met.
- Prepare, maintain, and submit safety reports, MIS, incident registers, and compliance documents.
- Lead and conduct HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and workmen.
- Ensure availability and proper use of PPE, firefighting equipment, and emergency response systems.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as working at height, lifting operations, confined space entry, hot work, etc.
- Support audits related to ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 / OHSAS where applicable.
- Strong knowledge of construction & industrial safety standards.
- Thorough understanding of Indian safety legislation, including Factories Act, BOCW Act, and related rules.
- Experience in industrial projects (plants, warehouses, infrastructure, EPC projects) is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence site teams and contractors toward a zero-incident safety culture.
- Good documentation, reporting, and analytical skills.
- BE / BTech in Engineering (Mechanical / Civil / Safety or related disciplines).
- Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) or equivalent from a recognized institution is mandatory.
- ADIS / PDIS / NEBOSH / IOSH
- Lead Auditor – ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 (preferred)
- First Aid & Fire Safety certifications
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant safety experience in industrial project environments.
- Proven experience handling multiple contractors and large onsite workforces.
- Based in Bengaluru
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
