Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of technical experience as an individual contributor security professional. 2 years of experience managing a team of engineering or security operations professionals for a distributed organization. Preferred qualifications: Experience with risk assessments and access controls. Experience in software development. Experience in programming languages (e.g., Go). Ability to prioritize and manage across multiple, often time-sensitive initiatives. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. As a Security Engineer, you help protect network boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and provide security services to protect highly sensitive data like passwords and customer information. The Security Surveillance Team (SST) monitors Google's network and systems for threats to information security.
