Position Overview As Manager - Garment Technology, you're responsible to ensure that our garments are constructed to the highest quality standards and meet the necessary technical and fit specifications. An ideal candidate for this role should have a strong understanding of garment construction techniques, fitting processes and be familiar with materials commonly used in women's wear and western wear. You will directly be reporting to the Principal, Design and Sourcing Roles And Responsibilities Identify current blocks for seasonal developments and where new blocks are required, work with the supplier base to establish these, creating measurement charts and pattern work from reference samples when required. Work with the Product Development team to ensure all styles are sealed on time (according to critical path). Manage sealing critical path, fit meeting schedule and on-time delivery of all prototype and pre-production samples. Manage size standards for all product categories, establishing and maintaining fit and size standards across buyers. Document and issue fit comments to vendors in line with the critical path. Launch and approve graded spec charts, monitoring correct and consistent grade rules across all vendors. Lead seasonal fit and grading reviews with the wider teams and action feedback where required. Monitor and record supplier performance and feed back to the wider team on where issues need highlighting. Overview of the Shipment Sample and AQL inspection process carried out by the Garment Technologist. Offering guidance on quality levels and helping with workload during busy periods Qualifications & Skills 8+ years of industry experience in Garment Technology specifically in women's wear/ western wear in top global brands or manufacturing units (like MAS, Brandix) Post graduation/graduation in Textile/Garment engineering (or a related discipline) from top colleges like NIFT, NID or equivalent; or equivalent training through professional experience in garment technology A proven track record of confidently leading fitting sessions from Prototype stage through to Pre-Production approval to bulk. Previous experience as a pattern cutter or working with development and production patterns would be an advantage. A solid knowledge of garment construction and grading. A history of setting and achieving quality standards, appropriate to brand(s), across women's wear.
