Area Testing ManagerJoin Mahindra Agri Solutions as an Area Testing Manager in our Seeds division, where you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of innovative agricultural practices. This position is essential in ensuring that our trials are conducted with precision and aligned with the strategic objectives of our breeding programmes. We are seeking a dedicated individual who is not only knowledgeable in agronomy but also passionate about fostering strong relationships with breeders, farmers, and other key stakeholders within the agricultural community.Key Responsibilities * Coordinate with the Breeders to plan and successfully execute trials for each of the mandate crops in the targeted environments, ensuring that all objectives are achieved efficiently.
  • Organise to establish and maintain a robust network of testing farmers in designated environments, fostering mutually beneficial relationships to enhance trial outcomes.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of experimental designs and ensure that trials are executed strictly according to recommended protocols and methodologies.
  • Collect accurate and precise data on key traits in accordance with project requirements, ensuring the data is well-organised and effectively communicated to the breeding teams for informed decision-making.
  • Establish and lead a dynamic team, promoting the principles of testing, adhering to best agronomic and plant protection practices, and ensuring optimal trial expressions.
  • Advance a culture of digital data recording and encourage the practice of precision phenotyping within your team, utilising the latest technologies to enhance data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders, including Breeders, Sales, and Production teams; organise crop tours and provide consolidated reports on these engagements to facilitate transparency and shared learning.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, or a related field is required; a master's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in trial management and execution in an agricultural or horticultural setting, showcasing a strong track record of success.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data accurately to a diverse audience, ensuring that insights are actionable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling effective engagement and collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with digital data recording tools and precision agriculture strategies is advantageous and will facilitate the implementation of modern practices within the team.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet the demands of the role and ensure effective collaboration across various locations.
