Associate Data SpecialistAre you a team player?Do you experience in Data Evaluation and Validation ?About our TeamData Operations (DO) within Elsevier is responsible for ensuring that Secondary content is correctly acquired, processed, stored, distributed to external customer and made available to Elsevier's product websites for the end user customers.About the RoleThe Associate Data Specialist will closely collaborate with various stakeholders and establish data-quality metrics, requirements and create reports for monitoring quality and corrections. They are responsible to analyze and categorize the data. They also capture information and involve systematic gathering and organizing of data. They use a variety of technical skills, including data mining, data modelling, and to extract and interpret data from large datasets. An Data Analyst requires a strong business acumen and communication skills.ResponsibilitiesAbility to critically analyze and evaluate written content to discern writing styles, patterns, and contextual information.Strong research skills to gather evidence from both internal and external web sources.Familiarity with various search engines, databases, and online repositories.Familiarity with scientific research, publications, affiliations, co-authors, citations etc.To take decisions based on the evidence from internal and external sources.Thoroughly examine the data listed in each profile and determine their association with the target author.Assess the content, writing style, and contextual information to make well-informed decisions.Evaluate and identify evidence for each data, considering the reliability and relevance of the information.Research external web sources to gather additional evidence supporting or refuting the association with the target author.Gather information on faculty members including personal details, employment history, academic qualifications, contact information, research interests, and any other relevant details outlined in the university’s website or faculties personal or professional web pages.Enter collected data accurately into a spreadsheet and faculty roaster database.Organize the data in a structured manner according to the specified fields and categories.Ensure consistency and uniformity in data formatting and presentation.Verify the accuracy and completeness of the entered data through cross-referencing.Address any discrepancies or missing information promptly through follow-up communication and verification processes.Regularly update the faculty roaster to reflect any changes in faculty members' personal information, employment status, academic credentials, or research interests.Implement quality assurance measures to uphold the integrity and accuracy of the faculty roaster data.Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and organizational policies regarding the handling and storage of sensitive faculty information.Generate reports, summaries, or analyses from the faculty roaster data as requested by management or other stakeholders.RequirementEducation level – Any Bachelor’s DegreeWork Experience – Minimum of 3 YearsCollaborating & leading teams to solve problems and implement innovative solutions.Have excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel and the ability to learn new systems.Work as a team player and effectively collaborate within a matrix organization.Experience working in an Agile development environment required.Experience/Knowledge in JIRA is preferred.Contribute ideas to the improvement of Process.Work in a way that works for youWe promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation.
