- Lead the design and development of electric two-wheelers from concept to production.
- Leading new model/variants concept, design, development based on Annual/Mid Term Plan to enable company's product strategy execution and revenue and margin plans.
- Drive innovation in design, technology, and performance to create cutting-edge products.
- Build and manage platform, manage product- UI / UX
- Oversee the testing and validation processes for new products.
- Ensure that products meet or exceed industry standards for safety, quality, and performance.
- Develop and manage the R&D budget, including resource allocation and cost control.
- Plan Capex for R&D facilities in sync with business plan
- Identify partnerships to support research and innovation projects.
- Lead enhancement/creation of Standards, SOPs, systems for robust R&D processes
- Regulatory compliance mechanism, electromagnetic interference (EMI) regulations
- Deploy the latest advancements in electric vehicle technology and industry trends.
- Recruit, hire, train, and mentor a highly skilled R&D team, including engineers, designers, and technicians.
- Foster a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages idea sharing and cross-functional collaboration.
- Set clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics for the R&D team.
- Provide technical guidance to the team and resolve complex engineering challenges.
- An in-depth understanding of electric vehicle components, including batteries, electric motors, power electronics, and charging systems, is crucial.
- Familiarity with different types of electric 2-wheelers (e.g., motorcycles, scooters) and their unique technical requirements is essential.
- Battery Technology: Proficiency in battery chemistry, energy storage systems, and battery management systems (BMS) is vital. Knowledge of the latest advancements in battery technology, including lithium-ion and emerging technologies, is important for optimizing range, performance, and safety.
- Electric Powertrains: Expertise in electric powertrain design, control systems, and optimization is required. This includes knowledge of motor controllers, regenerative braking, and transmission systems specific to electric 2-wheelers.
- Vehicle Dynamics: Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, suspension systems, and handling characteristics for 2-wheelers. This includes optimizing ride comfort, stability, and maneuverability.
- Software and Control Systems: Proficiency in software development, particularly in embedded systems and control algorithms, is important for managing various vehicle functions, including regenerative braking, traction control, and battery management.
- Testing and Validation: Experience in designing and conducting testing protocols to validate vehicle performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards. This includes knowledge of dynamometer testing, durability testing, and environmental testing.
- Simulation and Modeling: Proficiency in using simulation tools and modeling software for electric vehicle design and analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), battery modeling.
- Stakeholder management: Ensure strong working relationships with Sales & Marketing to help improve Technology.
- Commercial Orientation: Need to understand the commercial outcomes to accordingly plan things on the technology.
