- Patient Care & Clinical Management
- Conduct thorough clinical evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and staging of cancer patients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in coordination with the oncology team, ensuring evidence-based care.
- Perform surgical oncology procedures including tumor resections, biopsies, lymph node dissections, and reconstructive techniques where required.
- Provide post-operative care, monitor recovery, and manage complications effectively.
- Counsel patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical procedures, potential risks, and expected outcomes.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists to ensure holistic cancer management.
- Participate actively in tumor boards, case discussions, and treatment planning meetings.
- Ensure smooth coordination with nursing staff, dieticians, physiotherapists, and palliative care specialists for integrated patient support.
- Clinical Excellence & Research
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in surgical oncology, minimally invasive procedures, and robotic-assisted surgery.
- Contribute to institutional research, clinical trials, and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Mentor junior doctors, residents, and fellows in oncology and surgical techniques.
- Quality & Compliance
- Maintain strict adherence to hospital protocols, ethical practices, and clinical safety standards.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient history, surgical interventions, and treatment outcomes.
- Comply with national and international guidelines for oncology and surgical practice.
- Strong knowledge of oncology principles, including cancer biology, staging, and treatment pathways.
- Proficiency in surgical oncology techniques, including open and minimally invasive surgeries.
- Excellent diagnostic, clinical decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
- Ability to manage high-pressure clinical situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Commitment to continuous learning, research, and academic contributions in oncology.
- MBBS and MS/MD/DNB in General Surgery from a recognized institution.
- Super-specialization in Surgical Oncology (MCh / DNB Surgical Oncology or equivalent preferred).
- 1–4 years of hands-on experience in surgical oncology practice, with exposure to complex cancer surgeries.
- Prior experience in a reputed oncology center or tertiary care hospital will be an advantage.
