Unlock your ambition, turn ideas into world-changing realities, and join an organization where every voice makes a difference, and every difference builds a healthier world.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesPlan, conceptualize and create mechanical designs for New Products and/or Installed Base mechanical components & subsystems using Mechanical Engineering principles.Create & review engineering drawings, understand GD&T principles, tolerance stack-up analysis, material selection & selection of manufacturing processesDevelop test plans & perform testing & verification of designs, perform engineering calculations to support design work and lead technical design reviewsCollaborate with cross functional teams and work with suppliers & contractorsEngaging in all phases of new product development, including concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service supportLeading development of new processes in the areas of metal working, castings, injection molding, joining, surface coatings, etc.Knowledge of industrial grade plastics/polymers and their design & manufacturing principlesWork with customers and/or technical leaders to ensure that the technical deliverables are consistent with the goals of larger programs, projects or initiativesSeeks mentoring to learn and for problem solvingIdentifying and developing new opportunities to leverage Strategic Sourcing objectives and Common Technology initiatives in the modality product lineDeveloping innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturabilityMaintain and develop competence required for the jobRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering & Master's Degree in Mechanical Design / Tool Design / Manufacturing Engineering6+ years of hands-on experience in Mechanical design engineeringStrong expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysisProven experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and practicesHands-on experience with sheet metal, plastic design, or manufacturing processes such as injection molding, casting, or machining is desirableDesired CharacteristicsDemonstrate technical leadership capability in integration activitiesSelf-starter, energizing, result oriented, and able to multi-taskExcellent teamwork, coordination and communication skillsAbility to meet aggressive cost, manufacturability, performance and delivery targetsEffective oral and written communication skillsGlobal project management experienceGreen Belt/Black Belt Six Sigma CertifiedInclusion and DiversityGE HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer where inclusion matters.
