- Responsible for preparing food in a clean, safe, and economical manner.
- To comply with instruction from the Camp Boss.
- To work in a clean and tidy manner in accordance with relevant Company policies and procedures.
- To prepare daily store requirements list for issue.
- Assist in storing all Steward stores and supplies.
- Assists in maintaining and cleaning the storeroom chill box and freezer to ensure sanitary conditions.
- Cleans the galley, galley equipment, and Steward Department store area in accordance with good hygiene practice.
- Assists in proper economic control of leftover food items.
- Wash pots, pans, and cooking utensils.
- Performs any other duties assigned.
- To be familiar with all Company procedures, including the Safety Management System, applicable to his duties.
- Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established safety standards and work practices.
- Taking part in emergency and occupational onboard training such as, the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting, man overboard exercises, lifeboat launching, security drills and/or other training as applicable for the function
- Wearing, inspecting and caring for required personal protective equipment.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- Ship's Cook certificate approved by flag state

- Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness
- STCW Reg
- VI-6 - Security Familiarization
- Experience as a Steward/Cook/ Food Handler (as per MLC2006)
