- New Launch:
- Develop and deliver warranty campaign fresh eyes review along with stakeholders
- Drive design issues during launch phase & liase with UK PVT team to ensure robust containments, RCA & PCA within desired timeline
- Prepare fresh eyes audit deck and report out status to management
- Provide timely resolutions & approvals for Temporary deviation & In-Process containments.
- Steady State Production:
- Ensure 3 MIS warranty R/1000 is within targets & all issues are allocated to the projects
- Ensure design issues contribution in rejection Cost/Car & Parts/Car metrics are within targets
- All customer complaints have robust containment in place within 24 hrs
- Drive Temporary deviation & In-Process containments for permanent resolutions with various stakeholders
- Timely review & approve design & BOM non-conformances as communicated by UK team
- Working directly with manufacturing teams to understand and communicate all issues arising during the manufacturing process to key stakeholders
- Driving projects within the UK teams to contain and fix any issues identified.
- Coaching in the use of clear and concise problem definitions and problem-solving tools to six sigma methodologies and ensuring adherence to standard processes and templates at all times.
- Analyse and report out on warranty issues relating to locally produced Vehicles
- Liaise with UK engineering teams to drive resolutions to customer quality, Engineering led projects.
- Update local Stakeholders on status of customer quality, Engineering led projects
- Work with UK Engineering teams to identify and understand applicable engineering changes
- Assist Local manufacturing teams to understand all engineering changes and how they affect plant
- Raise local temporary engineering deviations when required
- Approve temporary engineering deviations as required
- Check for new UK engineering team led temporary engineering deviations that affect India
- Manage India specific temporary engineering deviations to ensure they are live and authorised
- Ensure all local engineering deviations are understood and agreed with UK engineering teams
- Daily & periodic reviews with Operations Manager JLR Panapakkam
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical/Production/Automobile). MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred
- 08-12 years of Vehicle PVT & Warranty, 3-5 years vehicle design experience is preferred
- Experience in Automotive industry specifically in vehicle assembly
- Proven people management, coaching, leadership and decision-making skills
- Strong Engineering design and development experience.
- Knowledge of Engineering and Launch processes
- Fully conversant with Manufacturing Quality standards
- Proven track record in delivering results on complex issues in pressurised environment.
- Experienced problem solver and strong advocate of 8D, DMAIC and problem-solving techniques
- Preferred work experience in vehicle integration
- Ability to work independently and proactively, taking full ownership and responsibility for own work; fully invested in achieving a successful result.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
