- Review loan applications and supporting documentation for manufactured housing loans, including income verification, credit reports, and property valuations.
- Assess the creditworthiness of borrowers by analyzing financial statements, tax returns, employment history, and other relevant information.
- Evaluate debt-to-income ratios and other key financial indicators to determine loan feasibility.
- Ensure compliance with lending regulations, internal policies, and underwriting guidelines.
- Collaborate with loan officers, processors, and other team members to gather necessary information and address any application deficiencies or documentation gaps.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential red flags or fraudulent activities.
- Prepare loan underwriting summaries, including recommended loan structures, risk mitigation strategies, and rationales for decision-making.
- Communicate lending decisions and provide clear explanations to loan officers, processors, and other stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and market trends related to manufactured housing financing.
- Proven experience as a Loan Underwriter or in a similar role, with expertise in manufactured housing loans preferred.
- Deep understanding of underwriting guidelines, lending regulations, and compliance requirements specific to manufactured housing.
- Proficiency in analyzing financial documents, including credit reports, tax returns, and income statements.
- Familiarity with loan origination systems, mortgage underwriting software, and document management tools.
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to accurately review and interpret complex loan documents.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating creditworthiness and risk.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear decision-making explanations and stakeholder interactions.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High ethical standards with a commitment to confidentiality and data privacy.
Basic level familiarity of Operating System (Windows / XP)
Usage of MS Office suite (MS Outlook)
Knowledge of browsers (MS Edge, Google Chrome)Soft SkillsTyping skills of 25 words per minute with an accuracy of 80%
