With the accomplishments, commitment and passion that you bring, I’m excited about what we will achieve together towards realizing AstraZeneca’s bold ambition.About the roleData Engineer in Data Science and Advanced Analytics is an incredible opportunity within the Commercial Strategic Data Management team to support the transformation of data science and advanced analytics for Rare Disease Unit by crafting, developing, and fielding data science solutions that drive impact for patients. The primary focus will be to leverage tools & technology best practices to improve delivery performance & data engineering capabilities in the D&A space to create a seamless platform for the DS team and to drive business growth. This role will work closely with the Data Science and Advanced Analytics team, US Commercial leadership, Sales Field Team, and Field Operations. This role will help further build the data science capability supporting the Commercial needs.Work with the Commercial Cross-functional team to identify opportunities for leveraging internal and external data to drive business solutions.

Responsibility includes woking closely with business and advanced data science teams for various cross-functional projects and drive delivery of complex data science solutions that drive value to Commercial Organization

Manage the platform and processes for complex projects using wide breadth of data engineering techniques in advanced analaytics

Proven working experience as a data engineer/business data engineer

Interpret data, process data, analyze results and provide ongoing reports

Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize data efficiency and quality

Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems

Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

Work with management to prioritize business and information needs

Strong knowledge in Snowkflake and in databases (SQL, Amazon Redshift, S3, Oracle etc.) and experience with data integration tools (ETL) (Talend, Informatica, SSIS, etc.)

Experience in building data pipelines using ETL tools

Strong Analitycal Skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

Adept at queries, scripts, stored procedures, report writing and presenting findings

Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Manage and provide support to data solutions in BAU scenarios.

Experience in data analysis techniques such as investigating, interpreting, and documenting data structures.

You will need to haveBS/MS in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Economic) with strong knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling5+ years of work experience with DB skills like SQL, SnowFlake, Amazon Redshift, MongoDB, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, AWS cloud and Amazon S3 experience, Oracle, TeradataGood experience in Apache Spark or Talend Administration Center or AWS Lambda, MongoDB, Informatica, SQL Server Integration Services, etc.Good knowledge in Data Integration/ETL concepts and programming skills: PythonGood experience in consulting, healthcare, or biopharmaceuticalsGood written and verbal skills, and willing to work in a cross-cultural environmentAn analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving and proficiency in data manipulation, cleansing, and interpretationWorking in a support and maintenance project along with ticket handling and change management experienceStrong communication skills and ability to communicate complex methods and results to diverse audiences.Hands-on Experience working with EHR, administrative claims, and laboratory data (e.g., Prognos, IQVIA, Komodo, Symphony claims data)To build an efficient Data Management (Extract, consolidate and store large datasets with improved data quality and consistency)With streamlined data transformation: Convert raw data into usable formats at scale, automate tasks, and apply business rules.Setting up Workflow Orchestration (Schedule and manage data pipelines for smooth flow and automation)Candidate must have technical experience in database structures, query languages, structured programming languages, and the ability to query large datasets using ANSI SQL/HIVE SQL and working with relational databasesImportance of Scalability and Performance (in handling large data volumes with optimized processing capabilities)Seamless Data Integration: Connect and integrate data from diverse sources easily.Focus more into Data Governance and Security (by ensuring compliance and protect sensitive data)Building collaborative Workflows that enables team collaboration and maintain organized workflows with seamless data flowWe would prefer for you to have:Knowledge of distributed computing and Big Data Technologies like Hive, Spark, Scala, HDFS and use data and these technologies along with statistical tools like Python/R, etcExperience with GitExperience working with Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) requests and responses and API REST services.Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Qlik Sesne, Power BI, Excel charts/reportsPrior experience with Data TokenizationWorking knowledge of the Salesforce/Veeva CRM, Data governance, and Data mining algorithmsWHY JOIN US?We’re a network of high-reaching self-starters who contribute to something far bigger.
