They also provide Short side analytics and market colour to hedge funds and manage bespoke client requestsJob Title:Sales & Trading AssistantDate:March 12, 2024Department:Prime ServicesLocation:Mumbai, NKPBusiness Line / Function:Prime TradingReports to:(Direct)Grade:(if applicable)(Functional)TBDNumber of Direct Reports:0Directorship / Registration:NAPosition PurposeThe team is looking for a resource who can work in close coordination with traders located in New York, London, Paris and other hub locations and provide bespoke analysis, assist with inventory management, efficient book management, provide short interest color and commentary, work with the traders on Ad hoc requests and collaborate with other desks within the business to provide high quality solutions.ResponsibilitiesDirect ResponsibilitiesAssist, improve, and possibly take ownership of:
  • Working closely with the Sales Trading desks to learn the various parts of the Prime Services business at BNP Paribas, developing an understanding of the front to back operations of the business.
  • Assist the desk with Dividend and voluntary corporate action checks for funding and LCR mitigation swap trades
  • Projects assigned by the traders in areas of client re-rates, dividend exposure and short side analytics
  • Short interest color-based reports to be sent to clients based on varied themes around earnings, sector trends, IPO lock-up liquidity, Crowded Shorts and Convert Arb color
  • Tracking and analysing trade level PnL for client short positions, including managing pricing and re-pricing of client short positions with reconciliations.
  • Ad hoc requests from the trading desk with respect to preparing pitch decks, client portfolio color and book spread analysis
  • Working closely with the New York trading desk for T+1 settlement cycle transitional period on multiple projects and daily flow management
Contributing Responsibilities
  • Working with colleagues in client analytics and other teams on projects related to analysing historical data and building dashboards connecting various databases
  • Helping with trade bookings as and when required
