Job Title: Finance Director – Jewellery IndustryPosition Summary:The Finance Director is responsible for leading the financial strategy, planning, and management of the company. This role ensures financial health, profitability, compliance, and risk management while supporting business growth. The Finance Director oversees accounting, budgeting, audits, treasury, and taxation, and works closely with senior leadership to guide strategic decisions in line with company objectives.Key Responsibilities:1. Financial Strategy & PlanningDevelop and execute the company’s long-term financial strategy.
Provide financial insights to support business expansion, new projects, and investments.
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial models aligned with growth plans.2. Financial Management & ControlOversee day-to-day financial operations including accounting, billing, payroll, and reconciliations.
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets, particularly precious inventory (gold, diamonds, gemstones).3. Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with statutory regulations (GST, TDS, Income Tax, BIS norms).
Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
Identify financial risks, implement mitigation strategies, and monitor financial performance.4. Treasury & Fund ManagementManage working capital, cash flows, and credit facilities.
Optimize utilization of funds for operations, expansion, and investments.
Build relationships with banks, NBFCs, and financial institutions.5. Costing & ProfitabilityMonitor production and operational costs to improve margins.
Conduct pricing analysis for jewellery products across categories.
Support business units with cost-benefit analysis for projects and campaigns.6. Leadership & Team DevelopmentLead and mentor the finance and accounts team.
Drive adoption of ERP/accounting systems for efficiency and accuracy.
Foster a culture of financial discipline, transparency, and accountability.Key Skills & Competencies:Strong financial and analytical skills.
Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and cost management.
In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and compliance.
Experience in managing large-scale inventories and high-value transactions.
Excellent leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
Integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.Educational & Experience Requirements:Chartered Accountant (CA) / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
12–18 years of experience in finance, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
Prior experience in jewellery, luxury retail, or manufacturing industry preferred.
Proven track record in managing financial operations of high-value businesses.
