They must adhere to national and local safety regulations, often requiring specific training and licensing.Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation:Install electrical components, wiring, fixtures, control systems, and equipment in new or existing structures.Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to prevent outages and ensure proper functioning.Repair:Troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions, faulty wiring, and defective equipment.Inspection & Testing:Inspect and test electrical systems, circuits, and equipment to ensure safety, functionality, and code compliance.Reading & Interpreting:Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to plan and execute installations and repairs.Safety Compliance:Adhere to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other safety regulations and legislation, ensuring a safe work environment.Documentation:Maintain accurate records of work performed, repairs made, and materials used for compliance and safety audits.Collaboration:Coordinate with other tradespeople, contractors, and project managers to ensure timely completion of projects.Common Skills & Qualifications
