MGS India has plans to significantly ramp-up its growth over the next 18-24 months while servicing MUFGs global network across Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific.Job ProfilePosition details:As a Security & Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and efficient data pipelines and analytics platforms. This hybrid role blends deep security engineering expertise with modern data engineering practices to support enterprise-wide observability, threat detection, and compliance initiatives.Additionally, the engineer is part of a team that will work to resolve information security related incidents and events related security breaches in a manner that ensures the safety of information system assets and confidential customer, consumer, employee and corporate data. The engineers will also identify and manage the implementation of appropriate security controls, aligned with industry best practices to meet security objectives and standards while allowing flexibility for the businesses to manage their responsibilities.Roles and Responsibilities:
- Data Pipeline Engineering: Design and manage data ingestion pipelines using tools such as Cribl or Observo to collect, filter, and route logs and telemetry data from diverse sources.
- Data Analytics & Normalization: Apply schema design, data normalization, and enrichment techniques using platforms like Elastic to ensure structured, queryable, and actionable data for security and operational analytics.
- Dashboard Development: Build and maintain dashboards that visualize key security and operational metrics, enabling real-time monitoring and executive reporting.
- Cloud & Database Integration: Leverage AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena) and integrate with relational and non-relational databases to support scalable data processing and storage.
- SIEM & Observability Tools: Operate and enhance platforms such as Splunk, Elastic, or equivalent tools to support log management, threat detection, and compliance reporting.
- Collaboration & Governance: Work closely with Security Operations, IT, and business stakeholders to align data engineering efforts with security objectives and regulatory requirements.
- B.S. Computer Science or equivalent prior work experience in a related field
- 5+ years' overall technical experience as a data engineer in information security field
- 3+ years experience in data schema design/engineering, including but not limited to programming/scripting.
- Experience with Cribl, Observo, or similar log routing tools.
- Proficiency in Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for data analytics.
- Familiarity with AWS data services and infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Splunk or similar SIEM platforms.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, schema design, and dashboarding best practices.
- Knowledge of scripting languages like Python
- Working knowledge in RegEx
- Experience in the banking or finance industries a plus
- Security and IT metrics experience a plus; report creation abilities strongly desired
