Job SummaryIncumbent of this role will lead our procurement team and will report to Director. Performs supply chain and logistics functions such as material procurement, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution for API Pumps. Creates integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., operations, purchasing and logistics) and outside suppliers. This role provides support of existing working relationship between Tendering Team in order to generate sales. The performance of this individual will directly influence the Company’s external relationships; hence the key is to win opportunities.In general, it is required the incumbent is from engineering background and technical knowledge about Pumps castings, machining, forging & fabrication and must have knowledge of supplier management, cost reduction, lead time monitoring and management, quality monitoring and people management. Also have knowledge of estimation or costing of these items as per drawings. This position will be based at our Ghaziabad manufacturing Facility.Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • The job needs to knowledge about procurement activities related to Forgings, Castings, Motor, Fabrication
  • Seal & Bought out Products, Capex & Consumable item etc for pumps of Power Plant & Oil refinery and must be able to oversee these aspects and to assess impact of decision on the business of the company
  • Responsible to analyse the purchase requisitions received from the responsible area.
  • Float Enquiries/RFQ to domestic as well as international vendor, technical review of quotation and Making Initial negotiation with vendors and consultants for purchase of materials/services.
  • Responsible for preparation of techno commercial Comparisons for finalization by sanction authorities.
  • Communicate and Co-ordinates with suppliers by sending RFQs, QAPs, collecting quotations, Purchase Orders acceptances, Bank Guarantees and receipt of materials.
  • Follow-up with vendor for DRG. & QAP approval, manufacturing clearance, inspection, logistics arrangement of finished items.
  • Involves in timely Preparation of work contracts and purchase orders. Receive supplier confirmations, records and retain as per established guidelines
  • Continuous follow up of all open orders and responsible for timely delivery of the material.
  • Sourcing of new suppliers and new service providers for better cost saving.
  • Responds to the respected areas in a timely manner.
  • Responsible to Co-ordinate with all stakeholders / end users for timely procurement and conforming quality materials.
  • Follow all established systems & procedures to provide the management information reports for the responsible procurement function.
  • Comply with all accounting practices, audit procedures and purchasing policies. Ensures utilization of proper project or expense accounts.
  • Responsible in Gathering & sorting functional related documents like Purchase Bills, PRs, POs, WOs, ABG/PBGs and GRN
  • Visits regularly to vendor’s Site for expediting the delivery of material to ensure the availability of item at right time.
  • Handle import activities like arrangement of freight forwarder, import duty clearance & submission of necessary documents to concern department.
  • Cost estimation for new products & provide to tendering department.
  • Preparation of procurement plan for each project & submit to project planning & account department.
  • Visits vendor facility for new vendor development, vendor evaluation, selection & supplier Audit.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring their performance, and resolving any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Represent company for ISO 9001-2015 standard certification process.
  • Identify areas for cost savings.
  • Compare actual costs with estimated costs and prepare variance reports.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in English language – both written and verbal. Excellent communicator to bring common purpose to tasks and strategies (internal – external).
  • Competence in Microsoft Office packages – Excel, Word, PowerPoint are prerequisites.
  • Technical ability to learn and understand proprietary sizing & selection of company software.
  • Organized, be able to manage multiple tasks professionally.
  • Good time management, sets and meets deadlines and assigned objectives.
  • Understanding engineering principles related to designated business unit, especially about our API Pump product line.
  • Ability to read, interpret and accurately respond to technical specifications / drawings related to costs of items.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal personnel.
  • Understands ownership and accountability of assignments.
  • A team player with ability to interface with multiple functions - Operations, Finance, Engineering, Projects, Sales & Tendering.
  • Solid ability to learn products capabilities and limitations.
  • Understanding engineering principles related to Pump process.
  • Knowledge of industry engineering standards and product capabilities.
  • Ability to manage detailed files and strives for accuracy.
  • Awareness of market sectors and products within served by the offered products.

Mandatory Education and Experience
  • B.E in Mechanical / Production & Industrial Engineering in regular course from recognized Institute / University in India.
  • 15-25 years of relevant industry experience in purchase of casting, forging, fabrication & machining components.
  • 5+ years experience in managing the team, experience in Pump industry is preferred.
  • Mandatory to have Excellent communication and negotiation skills
