Overview: As the Associate Director: Category for Home Care and Personal Care, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of these categories within our organization. This role involves strategic planning, working capital management, assortment strategy, vendor management, sales analysis, and team leadership to drive growth and profitability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall business objectives and market trends. Responsibilities : 1. Category Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies to drive growth, market share, and profitability. Identify market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions. Continuously evaluate and adjust category plans to meet changing market dynamics and customer needs. 2. Working Capital Management: Optimize inventory levels and turnover to maximize working capital efficiency. Monitor and manage cash flow within the category, ensuring timely payment to vendors and suppliers. Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve working capital metrics. 3. Assortment Strategy: Lead the development of assortment strategies that align with overall category objectives and customer preferences. Curate and manage the product assortment within the category to optimize sales and meet customer demands. Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for assortment expansion or optimization. 4. Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and agreements to ensure cost efficiency and quality standards. Conduct regular vendor evaluations and performance reviews. 5. Sales and Revenue Management: Set sales targets and KPIs for the category, and develop strategies to achieve them. Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth. Collaborate with sales teams to drive category sales through effective promotions, marketing campaigns, and customer engagement activities. 6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, finance, operations, and other departments to ensure alignment with category objectives. Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to optimize inventory levels and ensure product availability. Provide guidance and support to the sales and customer service teams to address category-related inquiries and issues. 7. TeamLeadership: Build and lead a high-performing category team, providing coaching, mentorship, and development opportunities. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team. Set clear goals and expectations, and monitor team performance against objectives. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field; MBA preferred. Proven experience of min 5 years in category management, working capital management, assortment strategy, or related roles within the home care or personal care industry. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends. Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills. Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective category plans. Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
