- To maintain and update the restaurant guest history records.
- To maintain a legible and up-to-date reservation book.
- To type and co-ordinate the printing of all restaurant menus in liaison with the outlet Manager.
- To deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional, friendly, courteous and professional guest service at all times.
- To be familiar with all food and beverage items on the outlet menu.
- To be flexible wherever possible in meeting special requests from guests for specific table assignments or other requests.
- To maintain the entrance area and hostess station in a clean and orderly manner at all times..
- To greet and seat guests in a professional and organized manner and offer the menu cards after seating.
- To work in a supportive and flexible manner with other employees and other departments.
- To treat all operating equipments and supplies carefully to minimize damage and reduce wastage.
- To take reservations and manage table assignments for the outlet.
- To follow all telephone usage guidelines while conversing with guests on the phone.
- To wish guests farewell as they leave the restaurant.
- To handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with guests.
- To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
- To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
- To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff in the outlet and all other departments.
- To attend and contribute to all staff meetings Departmental and Hotel training as scheduled and other related activities.
- To project at all times a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self control.
- To have a complete understanding of the Income Audit Section in the Operations Manual and Policies & Procedures.
- To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag.
- To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards.
- To have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel’s rules and regulations and in particular the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.
- To comply with local legislation as required.
- To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the hotel.
- To be flexible in the job function and perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities which may be assigned, including redeployment to other departments/areas if required, in order to meet business demands and guest service needs.
- To attend training sessions and meetings as and when required.
- Relevant experience as a F&B Hostess or similar is an asset
- Diploma/ BS degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field
- Excellent communication skills & guest engagement skills
- Excellent problem resolution skills along with outstanding communication and active listening skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Proficiency in English
