- Assist in planning and allocating manpower resources for executing the different projects, proposals, and other activities of the discipline.
- Identify and manage discipline resources and the development of resources for short- and long-term needs.
- Monitor quality, productivity, and progress on running jobs and proposals in consultation with the respective deputy managers. Interact with leads on issues connected with man-hours, technical integrity on the job, schedules, extra hours, and interaction with other engineering offices.
- Provide key managerial and administrative support on activities related to manpower resources, recruitment, organization development, preparation of Design Guides, new standards, and technical
- Alerts and lessons learned.
- Provide necessary guidance on the planning of all engineering activities and manpower resources associated with proposals or projects under your responsibility.
- Ensure the manpower resources of the Control and Instrumentation Engineers Team are adequate and are utilized efficiently.
- Establish performance criteria, agree performance objectives with the team, and develop the competency of team members.
- Organize internal quality audits and peer reviews for monitoring quality and ensuring timely close-out of actions.
- Review existing working systems, explore new systems, and implement the changes to improve quality and productivity.
- Provide advice and guidance to engineers and designers on important technical issues as well as managerial matters.
- Conduct meetings with the respective group manager and leads to discuss progress on the job.
- Interact with peers from other offices across the globe on a regular basis to ensure consistency of work across all offices.
- Engage with Quality Assurance for quality issues. Ensure strict compliance with project quality procedures.
- Monitoring and implementation of lessons learned.
- Interact with managers and lead engineers to carry out risk, reward, and technical integrity studies of control and instrumentation systems.
- Review complex engineering problems and guide the team in selecting a safe, efficient, and economical solution.
- Interface and regularly meet with clients and PEM on technical issues; conduct internal staff progress meetings.
- Participate in design reviews, SAFOP, and constructability reviews as needed.
- Facilitate and coordinate the manpower recruitment process in consultation with HR. Conduct regular technical interviews for potential new hires.
- Monitor competency of each team member and interact with HOD or OD for further improvement of Competency
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of the team members and recommend training and development
- Ensure strict compliance with the company's ISO quality procedures. Guide Team members for Quality Audits
- Perform related duties as advised by the supervisor.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Control and Instrumentation Engineering.
- A minimum of 25 years of detail design engineering-related experience, preferably from a background in
- working for consultancy organizations or EPC for petrochemicals or the oil and gas industry. Out of
- at least five years in a managerial position.
- Possess good knowledge of relevant IEC, BS, IEEE, API, etc. codes and standards. Shall possess
- ability to grasp other international standards and client specifications as demanded by work.
- Duties performed in the main office are mostly in air-conditioned surroundings. Occasionally, it would require
- travelling to sites, vendor offices, and client offices.
- Approximately 30% of time spent in meetings, 40% is spent solving technical issues, 20 % is spent on quality and technical development and 10 % is spent on discipline administration.
