- Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews engineering work within a discipline on a project or assignment in a global business unit.
- Supervises the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers, specialists, designers and drafters.
- Conducts annual performance reviews for direct reports in accordance with approved procedures and holds career development discussions.
- Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly.
- Estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns work to meet schedule dates.
- Coordinates with client representatives as delegated to obtain their approval on phases of work.
- Reviews and approves key engineering drawings and calculations, including field and design documents relating to the discipline.
- Coordinates assigned engineering work with other project groups.
- Ensures that engineers supervised receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development.

- A recognized bachelor’s/master’s degree in electrical engineering, from an accredited college or university with an overall experience of minimum 18 years.
- Site experience will be an added advantage.
- Possess a broad understanding of the major design engineering deliverables.
- Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work in a project or staff group.
- Extensive Knowledge of EHV/HV Switchyards, which includes following:
- Design of Single Line Diagrams, Protection & Metering diagrams, Relay/Control Panel
- Substation Automation: SCADA, PLC, RTU, DCS, Communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, etc.)
- Protection Systems: Relay protection/Electrical System Coordination, Digital/Analog Protection relays (SEL, GE, Hitachi & Siemens)
- Arc Flash Analysis, Protection coordination studies, fault analysis, Tele-protection/communication with remote LDC
- System Integration: Communication networks, SCADA integration, HMI systems
- Control Systems: Relay settings including Line Relays
- Testing & Commissioning: FAT & SAT
- Standards & Compliance: IEEE, NESC, safety regulations, NERC standards.
- Coordinates engineering effort in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups.
- Understanding of engineering planning and control methods including computerized methods.
- Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices and the economics involved.
- Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
- Skill in oral and written communication and writing technical reports.
